The 36-year-old YouTube star, Jessica Pettway, has passed away after succumbing to cervical cancer.

The 24-year-old beauty, fashion, and lifestyle influencer tragically passed away on Tuesday, according to her sister’s social media posts.

Reyni Brown, her younger sister, confirmed the news on her social media platform, posting a photo of the couple and writing that she had lost her beautiful big sister and that her body had never experienced such pain.

Jessica announced her diagnosis in July of 2021.

On her birthday, she wrote on Instagram, “Today is my birthday, and all I can ask is that God bring you back to life.”

“I lost my beautiful big sister 2 days ago and my heart has never felt pain like this.”

Reyni described Jessica as “the most incredible, courageous, and self-assured woman.” She added that Jessica filled her life with “so much wisdom, prayers, and guidance to help me be a better wife and mother.”

She also said that life would never be the same, and that she would never be able to stop smiling, joking, and laughing.

When we lose a sibling, it feels like the bond between us is broken. I love you so much.

In July, Jessica revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage three cancer and that her doctors had misdiagnosed her as a fibroid, a small growth that develops in the uterus.

In February 2023, she was diagnosed with cancer. She previously shared on Instagram that the “devastation” of being diagnosed with cancer was not her own, but rather the reactions of those closest to her.

I was confident in the power of God to heal me and that no power, not even the cancer, could stand a chance against me. I was confident that I was more than a survivor, and that I would get through this.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters Kailee (10) and Zoi Lee (3).

For the past decade, she has been a popular figure on YouTube, where she is well-known for her beauty tutorials and videos about family life.

In her final post, Jessica shared a photo of her family, which included her two young children, and informed her followers that she is currently “actively managing an illness”.

She said, “It’s not just about you, it’s about the people around you.”

The past year has been a rollercoaster for us. From the constant hospital visits to the financial burden, we have been through it all. The girls are still too young to comprehend the changes, but they can sense them.

The kids would often ask, “when is Mommy coming home?” or “Why is Mommy always in the ambulance truck?” As they were wheeled away in the ambulance, I would wave goodbye to them and see them crying for Mommy to stay home. It would break my heart to see my husband in tears.
